Brand Identity System, Brand Film

A subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd., Hitachi Vantara is one of the world’s leaders in solving digital challenges. Offering data storage and analytics, DataOps, IoT, cloud and consulting, Hitachi Vantara needed a new brand strategy and identity to not only differentiate itself in the marketplace, but find a unique voice and personality which complemented its parent brand.

After deep research and immersion, the insight that emerged was that Hitachi Vantara was “to be a force for meaningful progress, new ideas and real-world impact through data.” 

This led to the positioning statement, “The Data foundation for innovation.” Through this new lens, we designed an evolved brand identity system that brought data to life with vivid colors and evocative 3D imagery—all built up from the legacy of Hitachi, Ltd. The system culminated in the creation of a launch film with supporting internal assets and guidelines.
